Finding the Right Pet Starts with the Right Information
Things to Think About Before You Adopt
Long-Term Commitment: Most pets live 10–15 years or longer. Make sure you’re ready for that journey.
Time & Routine
Pets need daily care, attention, exercise, and affection. While children may be excited to help, their school and activity schedules may make it difficult to keep up with the pet’s routine.
Finances
Beyond the adoption fee, pets need food, supplies, vaccinations, routine checkups, and sometimes emergency vet care.
Lifestyle Fit
Research the breed or species you’re considering. Different animals have different energy levels, grooming needs, and temperaments. Make sure their needs match your lifestyle.

Adoption Fees
- Cats: $125
- Dogs (5 years & under): $300
- Dogs (6 years & older): $200
Fostering means providing a temporary home for an animal while it waits for adoption. This is especially helpful for pets who may not thrive in a shelter setting and allows us to learn more about their personalities in a home environment.
Adoption means making a lifelong commitment—giving a pet a permanent, loving home where they can feel safe and secure.
Yes. While all of our adoptable pets are up-to-date on age-appropriate preventative care, they should see a veterinarian as soon as possible after adoption. Most pets benefit from routine vet visits at least twice a year to stay healthy and catch any concerns early.
