Requirements/Procedure
Function of the Board
• Follow the mission, vision and values of HSBC, review annually to
ensure the mission is being followed
• Engage in review and concerns regarding the financial overview of HSBC
• Long term fundraising and resource development
• Approving and monitoring HSBC programs and services
• Enhance HSBC public image
Board Member Commitments:
• Terms are three years
• Board meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm
• You are allowed TWO excused meetings per year
• Disclose any conflicts of interest
• Expected to support the organization by playing a role in running/developing a program or committee OR supporting the organization by helping with research for discernable decision making and grant writing.
• Expected to use their leadership to make connections in favor of the organization. This includes but not limited to the following: building relationships with donors, bringing in new members, being a presence at some events, selling tickets, secure in-kind support and host awareness gatherings.
• Must be members of the organization and maintain a yearly membership
• Be respectful
• Exhibit professionalism
• Advocate to secure financial resources
